Taylor Lautner Fan Encounter: Japan Press Conference

A Twilight fan named Tanya shares her Taylor Lautner encounter with us! Taylor, Rob and Kristen were in Japan this past February for a "Twilight" press conference.

Tanya took a 2 hour train ride from Yokosuka to this event, which was held at the Ebusi Garden Place in Tokyo. It was raining that day, and the weather was freezing cold and a mere 5 degrees! This is her story.

I arrived at 11a.m. and there was about 30 people ahead of me.... I wasn't even in line for a few minutes when people were filing in behind me. Despite the freezing cold weather, spirits were high.

After about 3 1/2 hours of being in line, Japanese media started walking the line and interviewing people. The lady asked if she could interview me and asked questions like "where are you from, how far did travel to get here, how long have you been here, why do you like Twilight, and who's your favorite." I already saw the movie on base so she asked how many times. I was one of the very few who had already seen it.

Two hours till the red carpet was about to start, everyone was handed slips with numbers so you could leave and come back right before. Most of the line cleared out leaving me way closer to the front of the line (about 12th). 30 min till the start time, everyone was let through to line up on both side of the red carpet...and their cars were pulling up.

Everyone had to collapse their umbrellas and get soaked. Taylor Lautner came out first and people started pushing and it got crazy. Kristen came out and went to the opposite side. It was like playing Where's Waldo.

The screaming doubled and I saw Robert Pattinson exit his car. Rob came down my side first and I stopped him to give him the gifts I brought for all of them. He was very gracious and asked if I wanted a pic with him. Totes yes! Taylor came over next and is so much more handsome in person. He smells like a man. *not legal, not legal* Kristen flew by and they stood at the end of the carpet for press pictures. Then they went up to the balcony of the restaurant there and all said a little something to the crowd.

After that was the meet and greet Q&A. I didn't win a ticket but had made friends with a worker and he let me in. It was crowded. Intro of the cast and they came out, Taylor, Kristen then Rob. They all answered everyone's questions.

Taylor as always was very composed and gracious even discussing the panty incident. Seemed like Kristen was trying to be more friendly since people say she's ungrateful and other things. Rob was adorable like always. Both boys were making some sexy faces :) They drew numbers of people's tickets and did the weird box string pull game. The winners got to have dinner with them although the cast was only there for about 15 min. Long enough to sign everyone's memorabilia and take pics. Then they were whisked away.

It was still freezing when everything was over. I took the train back home slightly hypothermic but grinning from ear to ear.
