GASP! Someone Thinks Taylor Lautner Should Wear a Shirt!!!
There is actually someone out there who thinks Taylor Lautner should wear a shirt. And that someone is a famous actress by the name of Kristen Davis, who we all know and love as Charlotte York from "Sex and the City." Why would she say such a thing???
In an MTV interview Davis explains,
"He was the Sharkboy, and I played the mother of the other kid who imagined Sharkboy and Lavagirl in Robert Rodriguez's movie, and I met him down in Texas. He was a kid and he didn't have those muscles, and I don't know what happened. I see these pictures [now and] I can't believe it. I feel protective, like what is he doing without his shirt on? And then I hear he's dating people and I'm like, 'Ahh!'"
Thanks, G!

aww! cute. but i think the rest of the female world (or most of us anyway)would rather he kept his shirt off. ;) x
Kristen Davis is definitely alone on this one!
Who care's if he want's to go around without a shirt on.if u don't like it then don;t look
Who care's if he want's to go around without a shirt on.if u don't like it then don;t look
well she is being all maternal she has seen the kid taylor in sharkboy so its difficult for her to adjust to his heartthrob status but i've gotta say that tay isnt a kid anymore xx
Well seriously if u dont like it then ur probably team edward and that means that u should not be here at this website and if u r team jacob and u still dont like it then thats a problem !!!!!!!!!
Don't u think?????
She ain't his momma! So who cares, it's all publicity to her anyways. What am surprised about is how did her comments make it to this website TL???? Traitor! What she said is everywhere. Sex in the City, yeah she should be the last person to comment.
OMG, I was thinking those EXACT words as I read your comment. She ain't his momma! LOL. Let the man do what he wants!
Why is everyone taking this so serious? You know 38% said yes cover that boy up!
The last thing we need is a thirty story tall Taylor Lautner in Times Square wearing nothing but CK underwear...
Sum of ya'll are being unnecessarily rude. She never says 'wear a shirt'. She jus says she feels protective. She's not saying anything against Taylor or for Rob, so chill.
I think it's sweet that she's being over protective and speaking out about the exploitation of a 17 year old. Although the eye candy is nice, she has a point. As Taylor fans, we all love him for more than just the shirtless scenes. Give her a break.
I guess she feel over protective buh that was only a role she played
it's not like she actully is his mother or somthing. Buh isay if u dnt
like it don't LOOK
Love u Taylor
I think what she said is funny, she no ready for him to be grown up, like most mothers feel about their kids,... Nothing wrong with that I can imagine how his real mom feels she's prob pulling her hair out LOL
the immaturity some people here show is actually unbelievable. of COURSE she feels this way. She is saying that she got so used to knowing him as a child she started to feel maternal towards him! answer this, do you think taylor's own mother is happy about seing pictures of her son shirtless everywhere?! of course she would rather he had a shirt on in most of these films because A) she's trying to protect HIM, and b) because its really weird for her having a son who is a sex symbol!!! This woman is saying the exact same thing!!!
its not a case of "then she shouldn't look, shes clearly team edward, blah blah blah...." shes saying that she cares about him!! shes clearly proud of him, but you have to realise that for people who are NOT twelve, he isnt even legal yet! its quite something for him to be being sold as a sex symbol to the media yet when by law, he is still considered a child. cant you see how the adult world finds this a little strange? to be oggling a child for sexiness?
what she is syaing makes perfect sense. and not to be disrespectful of peoples opinions, but really if you cant say something of substance, just dont say anything at all. posting silly comments isnt going to do anyone any good. to those of you who posted reasonable, fair comments, fairplay. :-)
And im sorry if that sounds very rant-ish... but this woman has always seemed so lovely to me, and i really dont believe she deserves a lot of the harsh responses she is getting. :-)
Thanks!! FINALLY a smart person. I'm quite sure that the people behind some of these comments (most likely girls) are selfish and don't really care about the poor boy. They're just like "Do me RIGHT here on the sofa".. Get a grip guys.
Wow, Kenneth... You don't beat around the bush! LOL
I guess not xD.. Sorry, i don't mean to be rude, but that's just what i thought after i read the comments, and i still do. I can see he has a nice body but so so i (lol) and that fact is not the reason he's my idol, so why not try and respect people who don't share the bodily attraction to him?? Or who just think he's growing up too fast?? :)
Now there you have an add-on - See i can beat around the bush too ;)
I definately think he grew up too fast too. I miss that wide eyed wonderment and excitment when he was happy to just have anyone interview him. I don't think he is intentionaly cocky maybe just confident now although there is a fine line between the two. I have noticed a change in interviews from when I started following him. I don't know if he perceives he has to act all grown up now becuase he is basically the face of New Moon but I miss that little kid doing back flips down the red carpet. And yes I know you can't expect him to stay young forever that would be selfish on my part. It is fun to litterally watch him grow up though from that little Shark Boy that could. I kind of think his completion of Twilight would be like anyone graduating from highschool, he now leaves his castmates behind with a sense of accomplishment and heads out into the world to conquer other things.
And to answere Kenny's question, this is why I like him so much.
New actor, And I like to support the under dog which is no longer the case.
Intelligent.
Clever and attentive in interviews, well spoken and thinks about his answers.
Ever polite and curtious to his fans he meets.
Athlettic, I too could play everysport well, settles on 12 years track and field.
Silly at times, always laughing.
Sick martail arts skills, that was the deciding factor for me.
What's that thing called when you take the first letter of each word to make up another one?
I'm just kiding Ken it's what I do.
Well said Shona! I agree.
@ Shona: I understand her maternal feelings, but is she really that close to him that she thinks she has the authority to try to tell him what to wear and to disapprove of him dating? She probably hasn't even talked to him much since Sharkboy. It's his life, let him do what he wants. I don't think his real mother really minds him being shirtless because it's helped to make him known in his career. Let's face it, Taylor being shirtless in New Moon is a big crowd attraction.(And NO, I am not saying that he's only famous because of his body, but it has helped him.) And by the way, people oggle teenagers all the time... eg. Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, etc. And it's usually kids their age who are doing the oggling. It's really not that big of a deal.
Leave Kristen Alone. The Poll was all in fun anyway "Taylor remaining shirtless". much like another Lopez or Matthew McConaughey of every picture you see in those TAB Rags.
Kristen Davis has a right to her opinion if she feels Taylor is being used to sell magazines (and what publishing company hasn't done that?) or looked at as a sex symbol that's ligitimate. She knew him when he was so young it's only natural that she feels protective.
And I don't think it's a concience discission upon Taylor's part to do shirtless Photo Shoots or to be Shirtless in New Moon, that is what he is getting paid to do. I don't think he is impossing or demanding he be shirtless it just happens. And his modest self even professed he would rather not.
I don't want to see him being used either and I don't necessarily think he is. But There is plenty of time and plenty of roles out there that might need him to flex some muscles. And I'm all for "IF YOU GOT IT-ROCK IT" Many other of my favorite actors did. Ryan Phillippe Comes to mind.
Hey I decided to put a shirt on Taylor. Tell me what you think.
