Watch Taylor Lautner on Jay Leno plus New "New Moon" Clip
Taylor Lautner's appearance on "The Jay Leno Show" aired last night (Nov. 16) on NBC. Tay unveils an exclusive clip of "New Moon" where Jacob climbs the wall and jumps through Bella's window shirtless! Plus you'll see an old clip of Taylor wearing Mickey Mouse ears on the "Nick and Jessica Variety Hour." So funny!
If you are expecting Leno to mention Taylor Swift and her "Monologue Song" about Taylor, you're out of luck. He did not say a word, which leads me to believe he was not allowed to talk about it whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure guest of these type shows are given a list prior to going on air of what they are willing to talk about. And often times they set themselves up by giving the host certain topics to choose. In order to prevent a bad interview "make sure you mention such and such I have a great story to tell". That sort of thing.
I reply to this topic back in the Jay appearance thread. I too was happy to see he got to throw the ball around with Rice. He seemed stoked. He definately earned mocho points, he's got a good arm which I couldn't really tell by those prior photo shoots. I'm so happy for him.

Loved this last night! Not only did Taylor have a great interview-he got to throw to AND receive from football legend Jerry Rice!
You could see that Taylor was SO psyched.

I saw a preview for Jimmy Kimmle Live. And Taylor almost seems agitated by Jimmy constantly poking fun at the weight he needed to gain.
YES he totally was. LOL.
if i ever met him, and he was ever my friend, i'd be so sorry and scurred of him if i got him pissed! just the look, it kills lol.
but seriously, i would be too. kimmel can be annoying. i'd give him this look: "just stfu and get over it"
I've noticed something. You know that story that Taylor always tells about the Twi-mom asking him to autograph her Team Taylor panties? He told this story at the Twilight Premiere last year, saying a twi-mom in the crowd asked him to sign them. Then, in the 1st Jay Leno clip, he tells the story but it's completely different. He says it's at a signing in denver and the mom grabs his hand at an autograph signing and the daughter is with her etc. These are two totally different events that would be hard to confuse. It's a kind of inappropriate story, though it's funny. I've heard him tell it in multiple interviews. So why the lie?

I love watching his interviews cos he's so cute but I could watch the recent ones with no sound. He seems to have 10 or 12 different soundbites that he's got prepared and comes across as being really prepped. He's definitely not as fun or interesting an interviewee as Rob is. I remember seeing some early interviews from the set of Twilight up to the filming of New Moon and he was really fun, maybe a wee bit cocky but still cute and blushing and sweet. What do you guys think? Have the studio/his team prepped and polished him too much? To the point his true personality doesn't shine through anymore? I miss the old Taylor in interviews.
Can't wait to see him in New Moon. I've got a feeling he's going to be great.
It is possible that they are two totally different stories. The facts are too different to be the same. One was when he was walking the Red Carpet at an event and his publicist stepped in and said "we've got to go over here" and this one was at a signing. There are some "crazy" fans out there, so it is likely that both happened and that the story Taylor told on Leno was just crazier than the other, so he mentioned that one instead. I'm definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt here.
They may be allowing this story to get talked about because it is so far out there and they want to send the message that "this is WRONG so stop doing this to him", after all he is only 17.
maybe he forgot and got confused. it could be the same story since he's been to TONS of places, most actors admit they forget where they are and where their going next lol i'd be the same. poor taytay.
but i agree, MAJOR difference in this interview to last year's! he has been MAJORLY prepped and polished. almost too much. i want his old self back. :( pre-new moon. he's more serious now and i dont know if he likes that cos clearly he's a fun, playful guy. i hate corporatism and publicity life, trying to be something/someone your not or imitating somebody. but he's a people pleaser and will do anything to stay "in business" so i understand.
i wouldn't be able to stand it. so props to him for handling it all so well.
but he's also much more mature and confident this time around, he always was but even kstew says he is more so now and its evident. he holds himself well like a movie star, an mtv interviewer said which im proud of but he's still humble. and i dont think he was ever cocky just really playful and fun hehe. a damn tease. he LOOKS cocky now but he really isn't. he just tries to look cool for the damn papz but he's adorkable. :D
but maybe he's just scared or intimidated by the fans cos i bet he's heard the REALLY MANIATIC fan stories. or they put the fear in him lol. >>> which if they did, i'd be super pissed cos not all of us are like that! cos then how/when can i approach him and be like "your so adorable and thank you!"
but your not alone, me and other fans have missed his old interviews. i assume its his team prepping him. and like i said, he just does what he's told cos its his job and he wants to keep working. but i pray once he's 18 or as he grows and matures more he'll put more of his foot down and be able to say no when he doesnt want to do something. or i hope kstew rubs off on him lol in a good way. shes truly original. and i think he has already lol.
hmmm i dont know maybe he is telling the truth about that crazy twimom but the variations in the story may just be a nervous habit i think the one he told on leno was the correct version becasue he was himself 100% on that show and not nervous -i guess at the twilight convention he was nervous or something
but at the end of the day if the story is true or not interviewers are always going to ask him what his worst fan encounter is - its better to make it up than not have an answer and look boring but i think tay is telling the truth i mean the story is very believable

Haha, soooo I watched this on TV and turned it off the TV when it went to commercial (before part 2 on the youtube videos) bc I thought it was over. I watch the Leno Show pretty often so I totally know about Earn Your Plug and I can't believe I forgot about it. As a side note, this was a good EYP, bc Julia Louis Dreyfus had to have a tarantula crawl on her to be able to plug her show!
Anyway, holy CRAP, Taylor's really GOOD! I understand he played football for awhile, and it shows. That first pass was a freaking bullet, and dead accurate! Even Jerry was impressed!
This was definitely one of the better interviews I've seen of him, for sure.
As for the Twimom story...ppl are just being nitpicky. The POINT is that fans (and their mothers apparently) are crazy. That's it.
to be honest, since im not a fan of tswift and never have been, i totally forgot about that and i really dont care or about her, no offense to her or her fans. when it comes twilight and new moon, i forget about everything else lol. like nothing else entertainment wise is important to me at that moment. well nothing entertainment wise ever was for me, lol or more like as big as this. i dont think about taylor and taylor everyday and if they are or if they aren't dating. i care more about him, his career, the franchise, as a fan. and im SO glad they haven't asked him those kinds of questions can it get annoying for him and for me too. like i really dont care who he dates IF he is dating, as long as he is happy with whoever or with no one.
